Judite Parreira took office yesterday as Regional Director of Culture, succeeding Sandra Garcia.
A teacher and current vice-president of the Executive Council of the Praia da Vitória Integrated Basic School, Judite Parreira was also a PSD deputy in the Azores Legislative Assembly. She is a well-known cultural activist and actress.
The new regional director replaces Sandra Garcia, who left the position two months ago to become head of the Regional Directorate for European Affairs and External Cooperation.
