Across the Continent, Voices Rise: The 2026 North American Luso Talent Competition

Art once again is spreading across North America like a song carried by the wind. The 2026 North American Luso Talent Competition invites artists of the Portuguese diaspora—singers, dancers, musicians, storytellers, and dreamers—to let their voices travel where borders end. More than a contest, it is a celebration of the rhythm that still binds continents and generations through creativity.

Submissions are now open until May 1, 2026, for the preliminary round, where participants will share their performances online. From these digital waves, ten finalists will be chosen to take the stage on October 4, 2026, in Newark, California, for the live final—an evening when community, memory, and artistry converge beneath a single light.

The winner will receive a $1,000 prize and media recognition across North America through PAMA Media and partner outlets. At the same time, a People’s Choice Award will honor the voice that most deeply moves the audience—whether present or watching from afar.

For some, it will be a debut; for others, a return. But for all, it will be a reminder that talent, like the sea, knows no boundaries.
