On the island of Pico, Tiago Resende is known as a hockey coach with Candelária SC, but his artistic side is increasingly emerging from his personal workshop.
After participating in the Azores Fringe Festival collective exhibition, Tiago Resende presents “ooutropoema” (another poem), on display at the Madalena Library until November 8.
“In this exhibition, shapes are born from words and words become tangible,” explains the artist. “Poetry and installation are in symbiosis where the verb takes shape and the space speaks. Here, the word is not the end, but a means to pierce the silence with color.”
The MiratecArts association has about 700 collaborators from the nine islands of the Azores. The network created through registrations on the official website, miratecarts.com, fosters synergies between talents from various islands and artistic disciplines, while making proposals for the association’s future programming. “Only those who want to participate do so,” notes artistic director Terry Costa.
