“The Flight of the Butterfly” embarks on a new journey

The municipality in the northeast was the setting for the launch of Ana Carolina Medeiros’ first book, and the tradition continued with the launch of the author’s second book, O voo da borboleta, A viagem continua (The Flight of the Butterfly, The Journey Continues), an event that took place at the Municipal Center for Cultural Activities.
The venue was packed for the presentation of the work, as she is a person with many roots in the municipality, as well as on the family side, especially her mother, Serafina Medeiros, known for her dynamism at the local level, both in her retirement and as a school delegate in the municipality.
O voo da borboleta is a continuation of the first book launched by Ana Carolina Medeiros in 2020. In both books, the search for freedom as the highest value of the individual is evident.

The narrative revolves around two central characters and the challenges of youth, with the second book continuing into adulthood with other challenges in terms of family, routines, emotions, adaptations, and acceptance of the different paths taken by family members.
The book was presented by a childhood friend of Carolina Ferreira and featured other speakers, including one of the author’s sons.
The vice-president of the Nordeste Municipal Council, Marco Mourão, also attended the ceremony, highlighting the council’s support for the work that Ana Carolina Medeiros has been developing over the last six years.
Ana Carolina Medeiros was born in 1987, has a degree in Social Work from the University of the Azores, and works in her field of training at Casa do Povo da Maia.
