Quarto Crescente is a new band from Terceira playing original music rooted in traditional and popular Azorean music. They made their debut last December and are performing for the first time on the mountain island, in an expanded format, with several friends joining them on stage at the Santa Catarina Fort in Lajes do Pico for another sunset of Music at the Fort.

Quarto Crescente is made up of Evandro Meneses on the Viola da Terra and lead vocals, José Sousa on guitar, Delmindo Marco Meneses on bass, and André Coelho on percussion. The concert at the Fort will also feature Tibério Carreiro on the cavaquinho and ukulele, Paulo Rosa and Delmindo Meneses on percussion and backing vocals, and Rodrigo Meneses.

Quarto Crescente e Amigos will perform on Sunday, August 3, at 7:30 p.m.

Música no Forte is a project by MiratecArts in partnership with the Municipality of Lajes do Pico and is supported by the Regional Directorate for Culture. The fourth season of Música no Forte ends on August 10 with the Lisbon trio Marta Miranda.
