
The fourth season of “Música no Forte” in Lajes do Pico opens with a “son of the house,” Bruno Rosa and his band.
Born in São João, Lajes do Pico, Bruno Rosa is a singer-songwriter who writes about his experiences in the Azores, on the island, and around the world. On Sunday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m., at the Santa Catarina Fort, accompanied by his band, which includes João Silveira, João Fontes, Mário Maciel, and Helena Sequeira, Bruno Rosa will present new music in preparation for his album “Novo Porto.”
Bruno has already performed on several stages and at festivals, such as the Azores Fringe Festival, Visitarte, Semana dos Baleeiros, Cordas World Music Festival, and Semana do Mar. In 2017, he released his self-produced EP “Não Quis Ser Maior” and in 2019 the album “No Mar,” having also released the singles ‘Ilha’ and “O Mundo Não Pára” in 2020. He participates in other projects as a vocalist for the Horta City Council Light Music Orchestra and the group Ronda das 9.
“Música no Forte” is a MiratecArts project with the Municipality of Lajes do Pico and support from the Regional Directorate for Culture. Admission is free and takes place at sunset on summer Sundays at the Santa Catarina Fort.
