The sympiosum Filaments of the Atlantic Heritage celebrates the Azorean presence across the Americas and explores identity, memory, and creative expression. Rooted in the cultural and historical bonds of the Atlantic, we come together to reflect on our shared past and imagine new futures.

Our mission is to foster open dialogue, elevate the creative arts, and build a lasting platform for exchanging ideas among members of the Azorean diaspora. Through literature, scholarship, performance, and public conversation, we honor the islands’ legacy while strengthening connections between generations, geographies, and cultures.

This gathering also marks the beginning of a long-term commitment: establishing the Azorean Diaspora Forum—a transnational think tank dedicated to promoting Azorean heritage, supporting artistic and intellectual endeavors, and ensuring that the Azorean voice continues to resonate globally.

Let this be a time of reflection, imagination, and unity—an affirmation that our heritage lives not only in memory but also in movement, in words, and in community.
