“The Mystery of the Floating Archipelago” is a musical film that Zeca Medeiros is presenting later this month.
The film has a script, direction, and original music by Zeca Medeiros himself. “He continues to show us his resilience and energy in his desire to leave a positive message with those who come across his work,” says a note sent to DI by the production.
More than “a dream”, the film is born from the author’s oneiric imagination, “bringing with it a strong message of peace, in a story that counts on the collaboration of the protagonist David Medeiros”, reads the note.
Zeca Medeiros concludes the synopsis by saying that in times of great uncertainty, he wants the film’s optimistic tone to serve as a message of hope for the country and the world.
The first stages of the film began in 2019, but in the meantime, the pandemic and war intervened.
“The script was written around this time and has been adapted according to production conditions and other circumstances that a project that lasts so long has to learn to live with,” according to the production company.
The project is “short of funds”. Even so, it mentions support from the SPA, the Regional Directorate for Culture, and the Ponta Delgada Town Hall. The production company is Palco de Ilusões.
