“The time has come for us to invest a little more in the neighboring island of our headquarters,” admits artistic director Terry Costa. “After presenting the SOLO9VIOLA project and the Marcos Fernandez Trio in this magnificent theater, we are now betting on a season of Azorean musicians and one of our Finnish collaborators, presenting premieres of projects and new music for the public on the island of Faial.”

The first concert is scheduled for May 25, 2025. Born in Ponta Delgada, Maria Carolina makes her debut on the island of Faial with her original compositions, an evening of poetry with voice and piano. On June 1, the unmistakable island sounds of João da Ilha from Terceira will return to the theater stage with his guitars.
On October 12, after celebrating the tenth edition of the Cordas Festival in Madalena do Pico, the Finnish woman-orchestra Maija Kauhanen presents “kantele” for the first time on the blue island. To close the season, on December 28, the duo from Mariá, Alexandre Fontes, and Rui Resendes presents alternative sounds from the viola da terra, premiering the project “Engengroaldenga.”
Until the end of April, the public can buy a special pass, with tickets for all four concerts, for just €25. The box office at Mercado da Horta already has the package available. All the concerts take place on Sundays at 9 p.m.
