Ribeiragrandense pianist Francisco Pinto (São Miguel, Azores) gives his first concert

Recently, as part of the Ribeira Grande City Council’s Christmas program, the first concert by the young Ribeira Grande pianist Francisco Pinto, entitled “Olhos Vendados” (Blindfolded Eyes), took place at the Ribeiragrandense Theatre.
The young pianist treated the audience for forty-five minutes to an intimate, welcoming, and exciting concert.
He played songs by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yiruma, Justin Hurwitz, Andrea Vanzo, Patrick Watson,n, and Koji Kondo.
As it was an invitation-only concert, in addition to his parents, family and friends, “Dr. Maria Carolina Câmara, representing the Regional Government of the Azores, Dr. Fátima Ramos, Interlocutor Prosecutor of the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People, Dr. Cármen Ventura, Technical Coordinator of the Azores Commission for Children, and Dr. José António Garcia, the Councillor for Culture, Youth and Sport of Ribeira Grande City Council” were present.
Francisco Pinto has been a student at the Ribeira Grande Music Academy for around three years, and his teacher is Rui Correia, who is also promoting this event.
This young pianist is “undoubtedly a talent with the capacity to make a significant mark on the Azorean music scene,” reads the statement.
