Sara Cruz released her debut album

Sara Cruz has just released her debut album, Fourteen Forty-Five (1445), which includes the singles that the Azorean singer has been revealing over the last few months: “Day or Two,” “Faithful,” “Grass Is Greener,” “Plot Holes,” and “The Show.”
As an Azorean born and raised in the middle of the Atlantic, between Europe and North America, Sara Cruz incorporates the rich influence of North American folk into her work. Intertwined with the pop/singer-songwriter universe, this gives the album a current, international, and engaging sound without ever failing to involve their roots and origins in their compositions.

Fourteen Forty-Five (1445) refers to the approximate distance in kilometers that separates Ponta Delgada, the artist’s hometown, from Lisbon, the city where she has been based in recent years, and where this album took shape.
This number is more than a geographical measure; it reflects the duality of the two territories and the artist’s journey, which has divided her life between the two cities and realities, both filled with their own emotional richness.
“Fourteen Forty-Five is the flagship number of this phase of my existence. It’s a number that represents the context of my life in recent years, a stamp. It’s between Lisbon and Ponta Delgada that I’ve been living for almost 3 years, and that has always had a huge influence on the way I exist,” confesses Sara Cruz, explaining her deep connection with the album’s title.
Produced by fellow Azorean Cristóvam, Fourteen Forty-Five was a meticulously constructed work. Sara Cruz’s songs and Cristóvam’s production came together to deliver a striking and authentic record.

Each track on this record shows how Sara Cruz has experienced and felt her life between the Atlantic and the world.
On October 18, the day her debut album is released, Sara Cruz will perform it live in Ovar at the Ovar Expande 2024 event.
Sara Cruz was an FNAC New Talent in 2019, winner of the “NiT New Talent” competition, took part in the documentary “House of Talents” promoted by Yamaha Music Europe, and, recently, was part of the 28th OuTonalidades Group Scholarship for the showcases program.
With a promising future ahead of her, Sara Cruz continues to impress and inspire with her authentic and passionate music.

Proof of this has been her recent career, with appearances at high-profile events. One of them is the IKFEM Festival, a prestigious festival that promotes unique concerts that cross Spanish and Portuguese cultures and which welcomed Sara Cruz as one of three emerging Portuguese projects to present a showcase on the International Bridge, as well as the two Azorean festivals Meo Monte Verde, where she made her debut on the main stage, accompanied by the artists Cristóvam and Romeu Bairos and Maré de Agosto.
