From Monday, July 1st, until August 31st, the Ponta Delgada City Council promoted the “Summer Reading” project, encouraging people to read in public spaces.
This initiative, which began in 2014, is developed annually by the municipality and, in this 2024 edition, will take place in the bathing areas of Forno da Cal, in the parish of São Roque, and in Poços de São Vicente Ferreira.
These areas will feature displays of newspapers, magazines, and books suitable for different age groups. They will be open Monday through Friday between 10am and 5.30pm.
This initiative will count on the collaboration of young people placed under the OTLJ program of the Regional Youth Directorate of the Azores.
In Correio dos Açores–Natalino Viveiros, director.
We thank the Luso-American Education Foundation for the recent grant to PBBI-Fresno State, which will assist many of our projects, including Filamentos.
