With this special collection, Letras Lavadas has once again been a leader in the Azorean publishing world by honoring the tremendous contribution of Vamberto Freitas to the literary and cultural scene of the Azores and the nearly one million Azoreans and their descendants living in the United States, Canada, and Bermuda.

In 2023, the Cagarro Colloquim, a literary community of writers in all genres that advocate for and represent new and established writers of the Azorean Diaspora and their literary contributions locally, nationally, and internationally, honored Vamberto Freitas with a Lifetime Honorary Membership, given when the Cagarro Colloquium plaque as put at the Praça do Emigrante in São Miguel, Açores.
