In 2023, the Cagarro Colloquim, a literary community of writers in all genres that advocate for and represent new and established writers of the Azorean Diaspora and their literary contributions locally, nationally, and internationally, honored Vamberto Freitas with a Lifetime Honorary Membership, given when the Cagarro Colloquium plaque as put at the Praça do Emigrante in São Miguel, Açores.
