
“I’ve been asked to say something about censorship’s ravages on my work. I think it was particularly encouraging of the looting. Why this election? Because I didn’t confine my attacks to the merely political circuit of fascism. The evolution of my spirit more and more in global rejection. In this, I undertook demystifications, the most costly of which
was to afflict the puritanism that is the guardian of all dictatorships. At one point, it seemed eminently appropriate to throw into the quagmire of despotism the stonewall of a study dedicated to eroticism and satire, illustrated anthologically. The result was a comical condemnation from the top of the Plenary, which intended to overwhelm me but allowed me to prove Nietzsche right when he compares judges to camels.
As you can see, I’m not a victim.
