An exhibit on a profession that has almost disappeared on Santa Maria Island and throughout the Azores.

The exhibition theme is “The art of shoemaking on the island of Santa Maria, 20th—21st centuries,” which is open to the public until May 31st at the Santa Maria Museum—Vila do Porto Pole.
The exhibition provides an insight into the evolution of this art, which has almost disappeared on the island of Santa Maria.
Writings, utensils, and machinery tell many stories.
