Thirty-Eighth edition of a worldwide recognized colloquia in the Azores

The Lusophone Colloquia are coming to Ribeira Grande in São Miguel island for the sixth time this year, from October 4th through the 8th.
The 38th Lusophone Colloquium is held at Arquipélago – Centro de Artes Contemporâneas. With the high sponsorship of Ribeira Grande City Council and the patronage of EDA Renováveis and the promise of support from the GRA (Regional Directorate for Education and Culture and Regional Directorate for Communities), the 38th Lusophone Colloquium kicks off on October 4 with the following guests and honorees among four dozen participants: Álamo Oliveira, Alexandre Borges, Anabela Brito de Freitas, Diogo Ourique, Jorge Arrimar (Angola), José Carlos Teixeira (Canada), Nuno Costa Santos, Rui Paiva (Macau), Vasco Pereira da Costa, Carolina Cordeiro, Francisco F Madruga, Helena Chrystello, Maria João Ruivo, Eduíno de Jesus, Onésimo T Almeida, Eduardo Bettencourt Pinto, Nelson Ponta Garça, Urbano Bettencourt, Vasco Medeiros Rosa, Vera Santos and Jorge Rebêlo.


There will be several literary launches, music and poetry sessions, a session dedicated to Macau, including theater in Macau patuá (Doci Papiaçam di Macau), a workshop on watercolor painting, visits to schools, a book exhibition, two sessions dedicated to the diaspora and a documentary on the Portuguese presence in Hawaii.
