The fifth edition of Filamentos (arts and letters in the Azorean Diaspora) has just been published digitally. This is a cultural project by Bruma Publications to bring forth the arts, from poetry to short stories, music to visual arts, to the forefront of the Azorean Diaspora. The digital journal is published every 6-7 weeks, with seven editions for this year of 2023, the year it was launched.
This edition is dedicated to the poet Marcolino Candeias and launched on what would have been his 71st birthday. Marcolino was a poet who understood the Azorean Diaspora and the role of the arts in the Azorean spirit, independently of geography or generational differences.
Bruma Publications was founded in 2021, and a year later, in September of 2022, published its first book. In the last 12 months, Bruma has published 5 books, with two others to be published within the next six months.

Besides our book publishing and the publishing of Filamentos and the PBBI newsletter Novidades, Bruma is also doing a daily online news service for the Portuguese Diaspora, very dedicated to the Azores and Madeira and news of the Portuguese American community in California and the western United States. Both news sites are directed at those of Portuguese ancestry, especially second, third, and fourth generations who do not read in Portuguese.
