COMMEDIA, publicado pela The Poets and Dragons Society, em Maio de 2023, é um livro com a consistência dos ossos. Nele, Luís Filipe Sarmento aplica a lucidez lancinante e mostra-nos que uma revolução não se faz com cartilagens. Passando por inúmeras temáticas, como conflito de gerações, política, capitalismo, ditadura, corrupção, pandemia, religiosidade, conduz-nos ao tema central: POLIAMOR. Um conceito de “família consagrada à experiência de todas as possibilidades por mais abstrusas que elas possam parecer à comunidade vulgar” como afirma o autor. Deambulando pelos 12 capítulos do livro embarcamos no retrato da sociedade que quis ser sândalo e se transformou na biografia de uma gaiola. O que lemos nesta COMMEDIA são gerações que habitaram magnólias borderline, átomos mobilados por vermes, czares, tributos de rapina. Gerações onde parece vigorar nos genes um decreto de tentáculos e dogmas.
Para onde se dirige a sociedade que ensina inquietude aos monstros?
Como se movem os astros em órgãos dilacerados?
O temperamento da inumanidade é subterrâneo, denso, soberano e nunca póstumo. Saqueiam-nos a vitalidade para nos prender às versões drásticas da insolvência. São falsificadas as plateias que nos esperam. E pulsamos num reportório de coisas abjectas. E tudo isto, com o monopólio do Estado que alfabetiza drones e sublinha neve na vida do povo.

COMMEDIA traz o parâmetro vital da grande literatura: inovação. Sentimos o que Steiner afirmou: “um homem que leu o canto XXIV da Íliada – o encontro nocturno entre Príamo e Aquiles – ou o capítulo em que Aliosha Karamazov se ajoelha diante das estrelas (…) e não se torna outro, que não passa a apreender de modo diferente a sua própria vida, a ver de modo subtil mas radicalmente diferente os aposentos da casa onde se move ou aqueles que lhe batem à porta, não leu para além da cegueira do olhar físico”.
Ao leme de uma ideologia límpida, Sarmento entrega ao leitor esta latitude: sê obreiro de doutrinas incompatíveis com a contrafacção e a idolatria.

In it, Luís Filipe Sarmento applies piercing lucidity and shows us that a revolution is not made with cartilage. Passing through countless themes, such as generational conflict, politics, capitalism, dictatorship, corruption, pandemic, and religiosity, he leads us to the central theme: POLIAMOR. A concept of “family dedicated to the experience of all possibilities, however abstruse they may seem to the ordinary community,” as the author puts it. Wandering through the 12 chapters of the book, we embark on a portrait of the society that wanted to be sandalwood and became the biography of a cage. What we read in this COMMEDIA are generations that have inhabited borderline magnolias, atoms furnished by worms, czars, and tributes of prey. Generations where a decree of tentacles and dogmas seem to be in force in their genes.
Where is the society that teaches restlessness to monsters heading?
How do the stars move in torn organs?
The temperament of inhumanity is subterranean, dense, sovereign, and never posthumous. Our vitality is plundered to trap us in drastic versions of insolvency. The audiences that await us are falsified. And we pulsate through a repertoire of abject things. And all of this, with the monopoly of the State that alphabetizes drones and underlines snow in people’s lives.

COMMEDIA brings the vital parameter of great literature: innovation. We feel what Steiner said: A man who has read canto XXIV of the Iliad – the nocturnal encounter between Priam and Achilles – or the chapter in which Aliosha Karamazov kneels before the stars (…) and does not become another, who does not come to apprehend his own life differently, to see in a subtle but radically different way the rooms of the house where he moves or those who knock on his door, has not read beyond the blindness of the physical gaze”.
Sarmento gives the reader this latitude at the helm of a clear ideology: be a worker of doctrines incompatible with counterfeiting and idolatry.
COMMEDIA is a literary work with the stature of a cathedral.
