A new exhibit at the Public Library in Angra do Heroísmo-Terceira, Azores

The Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive opens tomorrow, Friday, July 21, at 8:00 p.m., the exhibition “Essência”, by Adolfo Mendonça, designer, ceramist and artist residing on Terceira Island.
The exhibition of the artist, “whose work has conquered the public”, will be available until September 30.
In a note from the Library, it reads that Adolfo Mendonça “from an early age showed interest in the arts”, and this year he received the award for best piece of contemporary crafts at the International Craft Fair (FIL) in Lisbon, with the piece entitled “Mundos”.

Adolfo Mendonça was born on Terceira Island in 1993. After his studies, in 2017, he combined his art with his great appreciation for the sea and presented his first collection of versatile and timeless pieces. In recent years he has participated in national and international fairs, such as in the Canary Islands and Switzerland, always with a view to transmitting the beauty of nature and the importance of its enhancement and preservation, through the use of recyclable materials and manual and artisanal production. In 2021, Adolfo held his first sculpture exhibition entitled “Excerpts” at the CCAH.

Ceramics has become a form of expression of his creativity, allowing him to explore artisanal production methods that result in pieces with an artistic character.
